An over growth of the top layer of hard skin are how corns form. Corns are mainly caused by pressure and friction from ill fitting footwear. The production of a corns start with hard layers of skin, at the top of the toe, these layers work themselves down into the toe like a spiral, the shape is almost like a cone, with the point deep into the toe. Corns can become extremely painful, tender and uncomfortable. Bunions and Hammertoe are associated with corns. Corns need to be relieved of pressure, and the toe need space to move, corns cushions are a way of relieving any pressure, and good fitting footwear will allow the toe space to move. Corns are circles of thick hard skin, which usually develop on the side or the top of toe. There two types of corns, a soft Corn that is normally grey in colour, and forms where the skin is moist. A hard forms on bony areas and has very small plug of skin in the centre. _________________ Cosmetic Surgery Advice |
